Galleries can break when product media is inconsistent or when scripts interfere with swipe/zoom.

• Mixed image aspect ratios inside one product gallery
• Missing media (variants without images)
• A script conflict from an app (reviews, popup, tracking) that captures touch events

Quick fixes

• Standardise product image ratios (most stores see immediate improvement).
• Ensure each variant has sensible images (especially if you use variant-image switching).
• Test on a duplicate theme with non-essential apps disabled.

Mobile-specific issues

If swipe doesn't work on mobile:

• check for popups/overlays that block touch
• check if the page has multiple sliders nested (can confuse gestures)

Best practice

Keep galleries purposeful:

• fewer, higher-quality images
• consistent lighting and composition
• 1 short video max (if it genuinely helps)
